About Dilwyn Jones

Dilwyn Jones can trace his roots back to the Seiri Cochion, the ‘red-haired carpenters’, who were well-known cabinet makers in the Maerdy area in the 19th Century. Dilwyn is passionate about the oak furniture he makes, as well as about his heritage and the Welsh language. He started Celfiderw (oak furniture) in 1996, making high quality bespoke furniture from his workshop on the family farm at Pentre Llawen.

His business has allowed him to stay close to his ancestral roots, while his furniture has gone as far afield as the USA and the Middle East.
